Sushant Singh's father seeks to stop streaming of film on actor's life

The Delhi High Court is set to hear a plea by Krishna Kishore Singh, father of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, on February 12, 2024.

Singh is appealing an order rejecting his plea to halt the streaming of the film 'Nyay: The Justice', reportedly based on his son's life.

A single-judge bench rejected Singh's plea, stating 'law cannot allow itself to be a vehicle to promote celebrity culture'.

'The right to privacy, publicity, and personality rights vested in Sushant Singh Rajput are not heritable, they died with the actor', the court added.

The court ruled a ban couldn't be requested as the film had already been released and viewed by thousands.

Sushant Singh Rajput's death remains a mystery, with CBI continuing the investigation. The actor had gained fame with films like 'Chhichhore' and 'Kedarnath'.
