- Non-profit privacy rights organization, noyb, has filed a complaint against the EU Commission’s Directorate General for Migration and Home Affairs for ‘unlawful micro-targeting’ on Twitter.
- The complaint alleges that the Commission used sensitive personal data for ad targeting, a practice prohibited under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Digital Services Act (DSA).
- Noyb is also considering filing a complaint against Twitter for providing tools that enabled the EU to target ads based on political opinions and religious beliefs, which requires explicit user consent.
