Delhi High Court dismisses interim plea against Yash Raj Films’ ‘Shamshera’

  • The Delhi High Court rejected an application seeking interim relief against Yash Raj Films for alleged copyright infringement in the film ‘Shamshera’.
  • Justice Jyoti Singh ruled that the film’s storyline differed significantly from the script ‘Kabu Na Chhadein Khet’ by Bikramjeet Singh Bhullar, thus not constituting a copyright violation.
  • The court also emphasized that there can be no copyright protection for themes, plots, or ideas, and rejected Bhullar’s application for an interim injunction.
